The Lycanthra Syndicate
When Jason Alder and Catie Davis take over the Lycanthra Syndicate, the crime syndicate in control of their home town, they believe wholeheartedly that they know what they’re getting into. Both prospective Co-Directors have baggage: a dead twin brother, a dead father, and memories of watching the same contracted demon—a psykojic called Myrixel—tear them apart. After they find out just how wrong they are, when Myrixel returns and makes their rise to power a living hell, they must do what Wilson Alder and Lou Davis failed to do: survive.
The Lycanthra Syndicate is a prospective science fiction graphic novel series based in the Iron Archipelagos, a world of floating islands, black markets, and sinister mindbreakers—magic-users with the ability to control minds and set contracted demonic entities on those who displease them. Catie Davis is a transfeminine, Lionan (lycanthrophic) outsider set on helping her best friend, Jason Alder (also transgender), lead the syndicate that saved both their families from the fate of his father and her own twin.
The incident with Myrixel Loxus following Catie’s fateful return before becoming Co-Director is but one of many near-death experiences for her and Jason. The Lycanthra Syndicate is currently set to be either a trilogy of graphic novels or an ongoing webcomic with 3 to 4 arcs. The first novel/story arc, Demon Strike, focuses on the attack of Myrixel Loxus in 2034 E-10, the second introduces the Order of Torjic’an—an order of minbreakers that’s been pulling the strings in the Iron Archs—and the third introudces an even greater threat (but is ultimately still under development).
