MEET THE CAST
Meet the main cast of The Lycanthra Syndicate!
Depicted above are the core four focal characters of The Lycanthra Syndicate. Catie and Jason really run the show, but Harper and Pitch are key to Arc 1 (working title "Demon Strike") and what comes before, and have their own spin-offs/sub-plots at different points in time. From right to left they are:
Cathleen "Catie" Davis — she/her, white-passing, naturally reddish-pink hair, natural lavender eyes, 5’5”. Lionan lycanthrope, full-shift capability as of 2033 (time of Arc 1). Hot-headed and reckless even at the best of times, which has put herself, her loved ones, and her fellow Syndicate members at risk more times than anyone can count. Fears loss, and will do anything—anything—if it means no ones she cares about dies, with little to no exception. Her impulsivity was mitigated and tamed by her twin, Lou, prior to his murder at age 13. After, it was wrangled by Pitch, Harper, and Dr. Laremond with some difficulty. Later, her recklessness becomes tactical quick-thinking and aids in her ability to lead on field operations and in the political sphere. Best friends with Jason Alder since age 7, considers him family.
-
Transgender. While working in one of the Archian Neutral Zones at age 22, she was given the option via NZhealth to transition fully, and did so. She has a permanent HRT patch on her left thigh that she changes out every month.
-
Always tinkering with something.
-
Never lets Jason forget he's an inch shorter than her.
-
Mirrored herself after Pitch from ages 13 to 20.
Jason Alder — he/him, mixed race, black hair (type 3B), green eyes, 5’4”. Dies his hair for fun, but often chooses purple shades because it was his parents’ favorite. Human, or near-human. Light brown skin, freckles. Grew up learning to work on android and robotic casings, internal mechanics and operating systems, and high-tech weaponry—tinkers with things even more than Catie does. Was an only child and never really knew his mom, but was very close with his dad, Wilson. Takes after his dad unintentionally in his mannerisms, speech patterns, and his looks. Deeply fears losing more friends, family, and Syndicate family, but manifests differently than Catie: he tries to make himself the best at everything he does (in every field), which ultimately causes burnout and leads to mistakes. Cares a lot about people in general, and loves to interact with the public, help his community, and strive for a better society in Voaden. Best friends with Catie Davis since age 7 and considers her both his sister and the only family he has left (Harper and Pitch are, to him, uncles despite filling the role of father figures for the rest of his life after age 13).
-
Transgender. Went on puberty blockers, then HRT, then had top surgery between semesters of college. Takes shots of T every week, but hates the needles.
-
Never lets Catie forget she’s two months older.
-
Identified with and bonded a lot with Harper, especially once he figured out he was trans, and had a lot of hard conversations with them as a teen.
Pitch — he/him, yellow “Void eyes” (zio occulus), straight gray-black hair, Not A Living Android, 6’3”. Reformed from his old life at the behest and care of Wilson Alder and Laura Deenheart, and dedicated his life to protecting Lycanthra. Values his free will above almost everything, the exceptions being his kids (Jason and Catie), his family (the Syndicate), and Wilson Alder himself. Deadly fighter with a reputation for being cold, calculating, and efficient above all else… but is a soft, mellow dad figure when he’s not on duty. Likes big dogs (yes, this includes full-shift Catie) and annoying cats.
-
Can, will, and has killed without a second thought, and has skewed morals—he protects and respects people he cares about or deems worthy of it, everyone else is mediocre at best.
-
Has first pick of Lycanthra’s weapons arsenal, is the first to get new hyperarm models, and holds the Syndicate’s best long-range firing range scores—does not see any of this as significant.
-
Was Wilson Alder's SIC for ten years before his death.
Harper Alderheart — he/they, yellow lamplike eyes, curly yellow and black hair, can’ai (not can’in) design, Not A Living Android, 6’3”. Also reformed at the behest, care, and education of Wilson Alder and Laura Deenheart. Had his memory wiped at one point and built themselves from the ground up, experimenting with gender presentation (despite ultimately being Agender like Pitch), self-defense and offense, code, endoskeletal structure, and weaponry. Became a jack of all trades and taught Jason, Lou, and Catie a lot both while they were kids and after Wilson and Lou’s deaths. Is one of the Syndicate’s biggest caregivers and helps out in the medical wing whenever he can, and prior to the formation of the ECHO sub-organization, he was the primary caregiver of kids the Syndicate took in.
-
Is referred to as “Mom” exclusively by half the Syndicate (unless they’re running an op) by 2033, especially after they take on a leadership role following Wilson's murder.
-
Prefers heavy artillery (mortars, hypercannons, (sub)machine guns, etc) to lighter weaponry or melee weapons, although he does own and carry and giant handgun he calls Mel II (Mel I is his HY-MC 19 Heavy Repeater Blaster).
-
Extremely diplomatic, and retains a lot of his barganing and language manipulation skills from his previous life of crime. Also a prime collector of insider knowledge, and is owed favors by even the Voaden Order of Torjic’an administration due to the amount of blackmail he has on them.
Other key characters in The Lycanthra Syndicate include Marisa Vetchy, Teresa Wells, Wilson Alder, Laura Deenheart, Silver veTala, Sal Aldavis, Myrixel Loxus, Porphyrius Rex, Corsak Therion, Auburne Grennit, and a host of Syndicate-specific supporting characters!
