FRACTAL ALLIANCES #3 (1998 E-10)

The first of 2 pages. A four-panel comic page painted in pretty orange, yellows, purples, and mixes of the three. Glowing orbs of Light magic float every frame, and two people (Fin Heran and Evansen Stark) are walking down a dark, covered alleyway from a street lit by the evening mosslight. Ev, in a low-cut button-down shirt and tight pants, looks back towards the street and asks, "Uh... Fin, where exactly are we?" Fin, wearing a skin-tight, high-collar tank top, chuckles nervously. "A... Ceretsi Liberation Club - er, Memorial." In the second panel, Ev says in an over-the-shoulder shot, "Uh-huh. You brought ME to a LIBERATION memorial." (This is ironic.) Fin shushes them saying, "Oh hush, I think you'll like it!" In the third panel, they pass a painted wall shrine featuring a god's sigil-mark in hot-pink paint. It is surrounded by eternally-glowing candels, small altars, and love notes pinned to the wall. The brick walls of the alley are covered in a type of vine. As they pass Ev says, "That shrine looks familiar." Fin agrees, saying, "I'm sure it does." In the next panel, the come to a stop below an archway into a glowing room. A banner hangs over the entrway, and Fin points to it and says, "I bet the banner design up there is familiar too."

A 5-panel continuation of the previous page, also in orange, purple, and pink tones. In the first panel, Ev looks up at the banner, aghast, and whispers, "Fin, that's..." When the trail off, Fin says in the second panel (a shot of the banner, which boasts an over-lapping lily design) "The same design you wear on your armor, right?" The third panel shows both Fin and Ev, standing beside each other under the banner, looking up at it. Ev scratches their head and says, "But... how?" With crossed arms and a smile, Fin replies, "No clue. Alkaline only told me how to find the place." Ev pushes their hair back in the second panel, still baffled. Fin asks, "You worshipped the same goddess, right? Cerise?" Ev nods and says, "Yes, Cyresi-" Fin mumbles "Ceretsi," comparing the goddess's two names and the name of the Ceretsi race. Ev continues, "but HOW is it the same exact design They're ALL different." In the fourth panel, Fin shrugs and turns to them. He says, "Dunno. Wanna do some drunk research while we're here?" Ev rubs their neck, still frowning at the banner. "Obviously," they scoff. "But you're buying." Fin chuckles and concedes, saying, "Fair enough." End."
